So I was reading about Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock paintings, and the artist Hokusai was very interesting. I thought I might so a quick little sketch referencing his style. You know, for fun. :0 Various color micron inks and prismacolor marker on illustration board. Actual size 2.5"x3"

a cover for my art binder to replace and old cross-hatched Red Panda this was an absolute pain, I should have gotten a ruler. The other things was, the original 'panda was like.. 3 quarters big, while this one took up almost the whole paper xD ah well, I like the result, eigther way :D

Mordecai, Serafine and Nico. I hadn't done any proper color work with this group yet, so I decided to do a little poster-style illustration involving the three of them. That's not Serafine's usual getup - I suppose she can't pass up the opportunity to get dolled up for a special occasion, though. She's dressed as her personal version of a Voodoo mambo. The image was sketched in pencil and painted with a tablet and Photoshop.

Just posting this tender little scene before I continue working on the colored version. The colors are getting... uh... a little freaky on me. So, before I ruin the image and stop coloring it out of frustration, I thought I'd go ahead and post this =) OMG! It kinda has a background! Who'd of thunk it?
